Cannot start QCad

Tried Googling, but having no luck figuring this out. I have installed QCad on a BeeLink Debian Linux computer:

QCad version is 3.27.8

I am sure the program was initially running fine then just stopped. Not sure what I did (or accidentally removed from my system) to cause it to stop displaying the program (it just silently runs in the background without displaying any graphical interface) - I see the errors its generating, but do not understand how to resolve it (I have tried deleting the entire /opt installation and reinstalling to no avail):

I am guessing something package I may have uninstalled might have grabbed a required package from QCad, but just do not know.

Hi,

Have a try with the latest release.
Ensure you have the correct installation file or package for your system.

Perhaps first removing anything related with QCAD is a good idea.
Including removing/renaming the QCAD.ini/config file.

I do see that a new version just came out, and will try that as well - but I did completely remove the QCad install folder /home/opt/qcad... and try reinstalling it to no avail. Unless the QCad.ini is not kept in that folder, pretty sure I got it too. Thanks for the response, will see if .9 makes a difference.

Well I found out I was having issues with my hard drive on that computer and had to install a new drive and reinstall the OS anyway - so its got a definitely clean install now! and is running again - thanks for your information and assistance. You were also correct on the config file - I had not cleared that when I did my reinstall of the software - so thanks for that as well.

Well I spoke too soon - I had to rebuild this desktop (cause of issues with the M.2 ssd) so I brought it into work and rebuilt things just as before with a new M.2 - and everything was working great at work. Now that the computer is up and running at home, I am getting the same issue - clicking the Qcad icon gets the program running in the background, but there is no GUI interface. The only thing different from work (aside from the LAN) where I built this, is the monitor - at work I was using a ViewSonic display - at home I'm using an older LG TV @ 1360x768 ~16:9 - is it possible that its the odd resolution and display is causing the graphics to fail to launch? When I get home i'll try to find a different display to use - but I never would've guessed that to cause the program to fail to run?

Most probably it is not the used monitor.

Well this has got me pretty perplexed and im probly just too noob in linux - but I do not find a QT install on either of my desktops:
Work desktop: BeeLink SER5 - Debian Bullseye - XFCE4 - QCad working fine
Home desktop: BeeLink MiniS - Debian Bullseye - XFCE4 - QCad no worky
Unless the QT libraries are included in the /opt folder that QCad put in my /home/daxq/opt folder? And then I don't understand why it is working on the SER5 unless it has more to do with the hardware:

either way, it really seems odd that QCad ran fine when I was at work on the MiniS using the Viewsonic - after its initial install. Why would it break when I got it home? I think I can get QT5.15 to install on the home MiniS Debian system, but do not know how to tell QCad to use it?

I see that you used the qcad-3.27.8-trial-linux-x86_64 package.
That is the one under the QCAD logo on the download page .. QCAD Professional Trial .. Linux .. 64bit Installer.

The version doesn't really matter for now.
Only, every update may include novelties and/or some bug fixes.

I think i just misread your post - and was unaware of more download types available lower. I am now trying the install package with the 5.14 on it and will see what that brings. Seems to be running now, ill see if it sticks! Thanks.
